Dental implant is a minor surgical procedure that requires thorough evaluation of the patient and meticulous planning of the treatment.
After thorough evaluation by the Implantologist, an individualized treatment plan is prepared to address the specific needs of a patient. In case of any damaged or decayed tooth, the first step is its extraction. After its extraction, a tooth root implant made of titanium is placed into the bone socket of the missing tooth. The placement takes 5-10 minutes and we can give crown with in 3-4 days. During this phase of bone-remodelling, the bone grows and the tissue shapes up around the implant to form a strong biological bond. This allows secured anchoring of the implant into the jawbone.
Now dentist takes an impression of the tooth/teeth to create a model of bite and make artificial tooth/teeth. A replacement artificial tooth, called a crown, is then attached of the implant.
The whole procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and is a painless procedure.
